It is with much sadness we announce that long time, and much loved, member of 979fm Melton Community Radio Janet Gratton has passed away after a battle with cancer.
Janet was a member of the station from the late 80s and was heavily involved with the education committee for most of her time at the 979fm. She was also host of community news program “Melton Pot”, and in later years one of the alternating hosts of “Melodic Memories”. After moving away from Melton in the mid 2000’s Janet retired from 979fm and started hosting a program at WYN FM. In 2010 Janet attended 979fm’s 30th birthday celebration and caught up with many old friends.
A Memorial Service for Janet will be held at the Uniting Church, Central Ave, Altona Meadows, on Friday (November 29th) commencing at 1pm
