Every Thursday for the last 4 weeks, we at 979fm had the pleasure to have some students from Melton Specialist school, so they can learn and experience the art of broadcasting.

Students have learnt of how to prepare for a show from start to finish,  and what goes on behind the scenes.

The Dedicated teachers bring 8-10 students every week, not to just have fun and play music, but also to help the students building their confidence in public speaking as well build confidence in general.

When we asked Mr. Wightman if they are enjoying coming to our studios, his answer was ” yes they are, and also they are playing the recorded shows before and after school, and this makes them proud that they can have a voice too”

We, at 979fm, are here for the community and we try our best to keep in contact with our community, especially schools.

We are sure that we will be working hand in hand with the Melton Specialist School in the near future and sure that we are making a difference.
