Local footy is back for another year on 979fm’s BFL Game Of The Round. While the first round of the Ballarat Football-Netball League starts on April 22nd, we’re broadcasting a few games before then.
Our first broadcast match is a practice match at Maddingley Park in Bacchus Marsh on Saturday April 1st. Last year’s BFL premiers Bacchus Marsh take on the Geelong Football League’s reigning premier Leopold.
Then on Saturday April 8th Melton South take on Melton at Melton Recreation Reserve in a game brought forward from later in the season. We’re at the Melton Rec Reserve again the following week for Melton South vs Sunbury on Good Friday (April 14th).
When Round 1 finally comes around we’re off to Ballarat for Redan vs Lake Wendouree at the City Oval. The broadcast team then only has two days to recover before heading to the Rec Reserve again for Melton South vs North Ballarat City on ANZAC Day (Tuesday the 25th).
BFL Game Of The Round broadcasts every Saturday from 1-5pm on 979fm and on-line at www.979fm.com.au or on your mobile phone using the TuneIn app. The main callers are Matthew Cocks and Sam Young with special comments by Barry Agg. Bill Lucas and Caleb Taylor provide the pre-game ground inspection and report from the huddles. Lee-Roy pushes the buttons back at the studio and brings you up to date with scores from the BFL and other leagues.
