Out with the old and in with the new, welcome to the new 979fm website.
979fm is a station on the move in more ways than one. Not only are we in the process of relocating the station to a new home but we are also in the process of growing and developing the station into what we believe will be the premiere station in Melbourne’s west. A station that leads rather than follows and a station that puts its listeners first, that’s why we have developed this new website.
The new 979fm website will forever be a work in progress as we listen to your ideas and suggestions and provide the features that you want but just to start with we have included in the new site a number of features designed to make it easier for our listeners to access our content and to interact with us.
Straight up you will notice the ‘On Air Now’ widget in the top of the right hand column letting you know which program is on air right this second and what’s coming up next and of course just below the ‘On Air Now’ widget is the ‘Click to Listen Live’ button which gives you instant access to our live stream. No additional software required, just click and play, nice and easy and just the way it should be.
The sites intuitive navigation menu runs straight across the top of the page giving you easy access to every area of the site with most items never more than two clicks away and the scrolling slideshow at the top of the home page shows you a short list of the most recently added or featured content for quick access.
Scroll down the home page to see a list of the articles posted in ‘Latest 979fm News’, click on an article to read and then after you have read the article you can leave your thoughts in the comment section at the bottom or use the ‘Share’ buttons to share the article with your friends through your favourite social media or via email.
Go to the ‘Programs & Presenters’ section to learn more about and interact with your favourite 979fm presenters, find out what’s on when in the ‘Program Guide’, learn how you can help keep 979fm on the air in the ‘Support 979fm’ section and even get in touch with us directly by going to the ‘Contact Us’ Page.
