3RIM 979fm are sad to hear of the passing of former 979fm announcer and committee member Bassem Abousaid. Bass co-hosted The Baz & Dick Show, The Benchwarmers, and The Pro-Wrestling Show as well as being Programming Coordinator for several years.
He was well known in the local pro-wrestling scene as a commentator, ring announcer and wearer of amazing suits. His voice could be heard on JOY FM as a voice-over artist and one of their weekend news presenters.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday the 11th of October 2022. Viewing 9am to 9:45am at Simplicity Funerals, 25 Mckenzie St, Melton. The service will begin at 10am at Witchmount Estate Winery (Barrell Room), 557 Leakes Rd, Bonnie Brook, with the burial at the Melton Cemetery at approximately 11:15am.
