Tom Sanders’s show is called The Drive Home, and it began about 4 years ago. Tom’s friend Jake did work experience with 97.9fm and eventually got his own show, and one day Tom Sanders decided to sit with him and co-host.

When Tom Sanders got asked, Why Radio ?
He said  ” as I really liked the idea of being able to express my own music and ideas.”

Tom and Jake did a few shows together and then Jake had to move away, leaving an open slot at that time. Tom wanted to continue, so he got some training with Jon Peppin from the “Top 30 Country” , and eventually The Drive Home was born.

Tom Sanders loves music and as he told us “music is his life”, During the Drive Home show Tom love to play every genre of music. Tom often go through phases of obsession; currently he’s  got a pretty big thing for experimental electronic music.

Tom love to talk about what the latest artists are up to, as well as reminisce about the older ones. as well love to talk about upcoming gigs  with lots of information. Tom Sanders really like to express his own opinions about the music he loves.

When Tom got asked Why Community Radio?
“Community radio allows that freedom of expression.”
